Monster
Its parents were CEO Jeff Taylor from TMB (The Monster Board) and founder Bill Warren from the OCC (The Online Career Center), which were two websites similarly career-oriented during the mid 1990's. Jeff Taylor said goodbye to
Monster in August of 2005 to create 'Eons, Inc.', a social network for people over the age of fifty. When Monster.com was seven years old, a handful of leaders left the company. William M. Pastore took the place of Andrew J. McKelvey as the chief executive in October of 2006. Now it has approximately 5,000 employees in over 26 countries.
There were two new additions to the Monster family in the year 2000, www.monstermoving.com and www.monstertrak.com. 'Monster Moving' was there to accommodate anyone needing relocation assistance as a result of a new job/career found through Monster. 'Monster Trak' was focused towards college students and graduates.
At the very beginning of its arrival, the company of Monster.com began promoting itself through television commercials during major events such as the Super Bowl and the Olympics. Time Magazine featured Monster's first commercial "When I Grow Up" under "The Best Television of 1999". In 2001, it began trading stocks through NASDAQ under the name 'Monster Worldwide, Inc.' Monster is growing and thriving among new markets such as India, and is the
only pan-European employment website.
