Thursday September 18

-- B2B Publisher Incisive Media Is Backing UK's Largest Online Employment Site --
LONDON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Workhound, (www.workhound.co.uk), the UK's largest online job site, has announced the completion of its initial round of funding. The round was led by Incisive Media (www.incisivemedia.com), one of the world's fastest growing B2B information providers, serving the financial and professional services markets. Under terms of the deal, WorkDigital Ltd, the parent company of Workhound, will receive €600k (USD 870k) in venture funding, as well as office space in London. The Workhound.co.uk site launched in the 3rd quarter of 2007 and now lists more than 900,000 recruitment posts, making it the largest online job source in the UK.The core Workhound product is based on the full integration of vertical search with open platforms that self-optimize based upon user demands. This structure allows for the development of custom solutions that provide search data based on format, place and specifications of its users. "Employment search has moved from print to online, and we have quickly established our site as the best online job search tool in Britain," said Workhound CEO Howard Lee. "The principal reason for our growth is simple: relevancy. We post the most jobs, but our highly targeted search algorithms also ensure that job seekers find opportunities for which they are well-suited. Furthermore, these search results can be easily delivered by email alert, twitter, mobile, or RSS feed."Tim Weller, Group Chief Executive of Incisive Media, said, "online recruiting is proving to be one of the major growth sectors of the Internet economy. In 2007, recruitment accounted for a quarter of all UK search advertising spend, making it the single largest advertising category. We estimate that 40% of adults online browsed for work in January 2008, and by 2010 we anticipate that £500m will be spent on online recruitment search advertising, creating a £12 billion search market opportunity in Britain alone. Our investment in Workhound is an important step for Incisive Media because it gives us a foothold in search, which has become the dominant new channel to deliver relevant information in one of the most important sectors of the Web."About Workhound
